Modern Shaker Kitchen, Two-Tone Design, Dorchester, August 2018

Dorchester, Dorset

The Design

This was the third kitchen we were briefed to design for our clients in their new-build property in Dorchester, with each room having a different use and a different vision for style too. Being the main kitchen for the property, this not only needed to be the largest, the client was also looking for something in the kitchen design that stood out, too.

Our design team got to work and came up with a stunning two-tone shaker style kitchen that really thrilled the client.

The Process

Our design team hit the mark on all three kitchens in this property, with the main kitchen being the most prominent of the three.

We've used a traditional shaker door here from our Mornington range (in Charcoal and PTO Cashmere) but given it a modern feel. The use of a bold main colour makes a statement and sets these cabinets apart from the rest of the lighter colours in the kitchen. The solid surface worktops (in Pietra Paper Moon) and the second colour on other cabinets and doors stand out much more in contrast.

In keeping with the modern theme of this new-build property we've given a traditional kitchen cabinet door a contemporary twist with the use of different worktops and colours. No space has been wasted in this kitchen, with Kessebohmer storage solutions in both corners, and a larder pull-out to give a great option in vertical storage too!
